Stored user data

Canvus client stores certain information locally on the users\' machine to improve their user experience:

  • When signing in to a Canvus Connect server, if the user enables \"Remember me\" option, a secret token and their username is stored in the operating system\'s secret store. This allows the user to authenticate to the server without having to re-enter their username or password.

Note

The user\'s password is never stored on the machine running Canvus client.

  • If persistent browser sessions are enabled (the default), Canvus client stores the user\'s browser session in Canvus (cookies, history, etc.) on disk. This allows users to sign-in to web pages and not having to re-authenticate after they close the canvas or restart the Canvus client. The browser sessions are unique to each user and are not shared with other web browsers installed on computer.

The Guest user\'s browser session is shared between all servers and all local canvases.

Tip

You can disable persistent browser sessions in the Canvus client\'s client-browser-settings.
